Storefront → SEO & social. Set a title, description and share image for your shop, and override them per page.

What you can set

Products, collections and pages you’ve built each have their own overrides.
Do your collection pages. They’re the ones most often left on defaults, and a collection running on your shop’s default title ends up competing with your own home page in search results.

Sitemap and robots

You get both, generated from your actual catalogue and settings. Nothing to maintain.
A Disallow rule matches the start of a URL, not a whole path segment. So Disallow: /sale also blocks /sales and /sale-items.
If your shop is private, it’s kept out of its own sitemap and robots file automatically — you can’t accidentally advertise a shop you’ve closed. Privacy & visibility

Rich results

Your product pages publish structured data — price, availability, and star ratings where you’ve approved reviews. That’s what produces the extra detail under a Google result. If you’re adding your own structured data through custom code, escape it properly. JSON.stringify won’t escape a </script> inside a string, so a product description containing one can break the block.

Changing a URL

Renaming a product or collection changes its address, and nothing follows the rename on its own. Add a redirect at the same time. Redirects

Where to spend your time

1

Your shop title and description

Everything else inherits from these. Say what you sell, not just your name.
2

One good share image

Most sharing happens before anyone reads a word of description.
3

Your collection pages

Highest return after the home page, and the most commonly skipped.
4

Your best sellers

Not all your products. The returns drop off fast.
5

Submit your sitemap

To Google Search Console, once the above is actually done.
