A profile can hold more than one wallet. Usually a Solana one and an EVM one, or
a hot wallet and a vault.
Both wallets have to agree
Linking takes a signature from each wallet — the one you’re signed in with,
and the one you’re adding.
That’s what stops anyone attaching your wallet to their profile and displaying
your holdings as theirs.
A wallet belongs to one profile at a time. Trying to link one that’s already
attached somewhere else is refused rather than quietly moved.
What you get
- Holdings from every linked wallet on one profile.
- Sign in from any of them.
- The same handle and profile wherever you connect from.
What it doesn’t do
Linking doesn’t let one wallet act for another. The wallet that owns an NFT is the only wallet that can list it, delist it or
accept an offer on it. Linking wallet B to your profile doesn’t let wallet A
sell wallet B’s NFTs.
This surprises people occasionally, but it’s the right way round — if linking
handed over authority, one compromised wallet would put everything you own at
risk.
Signing in on a shop’s own domain
If you’re signing in on a merchant’s custom domain, the sign-in itself happens
on our address and hands back afterwards. Running logins on arbitrary domains
isn’t something we’ll do.
Unlinking
From your profile settings. It doesn’t affect anything the wallet owns, any
listing it has open, or any offer it has out.
Tidy up open listings and offers before unlinking a wallet you’re finished with
— not because unlinking breaks them, but because you won’t see them on your
profile to manage afterwards.
